Lionel Messi became the all-time top scorer of the five major European tournaments. The Argentina captain reached 495 goals, exactly the same number of goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo before his move to the Saudi club Al-Nassr.
Messi now has 703 goals in all club competitions in Europe, surpassing the Madeira Rocket who has 701 goals. The goal took Messi's tally to 21 in two seasons in the French championship, while he scored 474 in LaLiga with Barcelona.
