Nikita Kucherov reduced the gap to Nathan MacKinnon in the scoring race to three points. Evgeny Kuznetsov scored his debut goal for Carolina and was recognized as the first star of the meeting with Florida.

Ilya Samsonov repeated Toronto's record for the number of consecutive away victories, and also scored an assist. Ilya Sorokin was the first goalkeeper to surpass the 1,400 saves mark in a season. Evgeni Malkin and Kirill Kaprizov scored once and helped Pittsburgh and Minnesota win over San Jose and Anaheim.
