Japan demands 3.5 million euros from Iniesta for non-payment of taxes. Iniesta is one of three foreign footballers who played for Japanese teams from whom the Japanese Tax Agency is demanding different amounts.
The Japanese authorities consider that Iniesta, 39, was, for tax purposes, resident in Japan, having been living during that period with his family in the city of Kobe. The other two footballers are the South Korean Kim Jin-hyeon (36), Cereza Osaka goalkeeper, and the Brazilian forward Anderson Patric Aguiar Oliveira.
