Andres Iniesta, a former Spanish national soccer player who played for J1 side Vissel Kobe, has filed a declaration of contract money. Iniesta was pointed out by the Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau that he had failed to declare approximately 860 million yen in terms of his contract bonus for 2018 between July 2018 and July 2023.
An additional tax of 80 million yen was imposed. "We are clearly subject to heavy double taxation, we are unable to comply with the so-called ``friendship agreement'' stipulated in the double taxation agreement between Spain and Japan," Iniesta said.
