Sergio Perez in second place, Carlos Sainz in third. Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon crash on the first lap of the race in Suzuka. The drivers got out uninjured until the scene of the accident was cleared, but it was a good half hour before the restart. The race was interrupted by a lightning crash involving the competition on the opening lap.
