Footballer Alves sentenced to four and a half years in prison for rape. The footballer's defense can appeal to the High Court of Catalonia.
Alves himself stated that he had sexual contact with the victim, but everything was by mutual consent. Earlier it was reported that the defense asked to acquit Dani Alves. The former Barcelona defender was found guilty of raping a 23-year-old girl in the toilet of a Barcelona nightclub on December 30, 2022. The prosecutor asked for a nine-year sentence for Alves, but the judge decided on a four-year term.
