The German Andreas Brehme died in the night from Monday to Tuesday at the age of 63. He was decisive scorer in the final of the 1990 World Cup in Rome against Argentina (1-0) The cause of his death was not specified in the Bayern Munich press release.

He also played for Bayern Munich (1986-1989) and Inter Milan (1989-1991) in the Bundesliga. He won the German Cup with Bayern in 1998 and the Champions League with Inter in 2000. He is survived by his wife and two children.
