Dani Alves was sentenced on Thursday February 22, 2024 to four and a half years in prison by the Barcelona court. The Brazilian player was summoned to court on February 22 to hear the verdict of his trial, held from February 5 to 7.
The court declared in a press release that it considered the rape " proven ", imposed an additional 5 years of supervised release, a restraining order against the victim for 9 and ahalf years and the payment of a fine of 150,000 euros. The former Brazilian international claimed during his trial to have had a consensual sexual relationship.
