Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov won gold medals at the Spartakiad in pair skating. Alexandra Boykova and Dmitry Kozlovsky were unable to compete with their principal rivals, unexpectedly losing support at the very end of the box office.

In the women's tournament, Adelia Petrosyan won with a clear advantage, who, despite falling from a quadruple flip, was almost 27 points ahead of Anna Frolova. Ksenia Sinitsyna won bronze.
