Andrey Kuzmenko will continue his career in Calgary. The Russian forward was traded from Vancouver to Calgary in exchange for Hunter Brzustevich and Joni Jurmo.
Forward Elias Lindholm went in the opposite direction to Vancouver. Kuzmanko's contract with Vancouver contained a clause prohibiting him from moving to 12 teams in the league. The striker could reject management’s offer and remain as part of one of the contenders for the Stanley Cup. He refused this option and moved to the 12th team in the Western Conference.
