Fernando Alonso finished seventh in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix. The Aston Martin driver had climbed the podium in five of the first six tests.
Alonso was not seventh because of some breakdown -beyond what happened in qualifying with a flat bottom-, because of rain or an accident. For the first time this season, he did not belong to the elite of the championship, but to the middle class, to the peloton. Max Verstappen, winner, is in another galaxy, flying towards his third consecutive World Championship.
