Camilla Kemp will be the first German to surf at the Olympics. Kemp secured her ticket at the World Surfing Championships in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

Surfing is in the Olympics for only the second time this year. No Germans took part in the games in Tokyo. A 14-year-old will also be there in the summer, but the games will take place on the island of Tahiti in the overseas territory of French Polynesia. The tower for the competition judges is now scheduled to be completed by May.
