French athlete Morhad Amdouni broke his own French record on Sunday by taking 2nd place in the Seville marathon in Spain in 2 hours 3 min and 47 seconds. The 35-year-old Frenchman exploded his old mark (2:05:22 in 2022) and came very close to the European record of 2:03:36.

He is now taking a serious option for the Olympic selection for 2024 Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He will compete in the men's marathon at the Olympics in 2024.
