Appeal rejected – Russian Olympic Committee remains suspended. Five months before the Olympic Games, the Cas sports court has now rejected an objection.
The IOC suspended the ROC “with immediate effect” on October 12th, reacting to a “breach of the Olympic Charter” The ROC had previously accepted the sports organizations of the annexed Ukrainian regions of Kherson, Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk as members. Nothing will initially change for the athletes from Russia and Belarus: They are allowed to start as neutral athletes at the Olympic games in Paris.
