Andreas Brehme is remembered for his World Cup winning goal in 1990. The left-back spent six seasons in Kaiserslautern.

He also played for Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. In 1994, he took part in his third and final World Cup final with Germany. He was voted Italy's footballer of the year in 1989 and 1991. He retired from football in 2014 after being eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 2014 World Cup. He is survived by his wife, two children and two grandchildren.
