Kamila Valieva was disqualified for four years by Court of Arbitration for Sport. Evgenia Medvedeva, Roman Kostomarov, Tatyana Tarasova and Eteri Tutberze expressed shock at the decision.

Valieeva published a short video from her own performance set to the sad composition “Heart” by Passmurny. She wrote: “Drown my pain. And choose my heart. The sun will burn out. The thoughts are gone."
