Softbank's Takeshi Wada, the oldest pitcher in the Pacific League, threw 21 pitches in his first bullpen game. Wada won eight games last season, the second most on the team, and manager Yuki Kokubo said he and pitcher Kohei Arihara, who led the team with 10 wins, will be in the opening rotation.

Pitcher Wada felt tension in his left side during voluntary training before camp, and although it has disappeared, he was throwing with about 40% of his force on the 6th.
