Williams out of French Open by Rybakina

American Serena Williams was knocked out of the French Open in the fourth round by Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina on Sunday after losing 6-3 7-5 to the 21st seed.

Williams, 39, was far from her level, waiting for her 24th Grand Slam singles title to equal Australian Margaret Court's record.

Rybakina held her own in superb style to reach the quarter-finals at a Grand Slam for the first time, sealing victory when Williams returned a kick with a backhand drive wide.
