Florentino Pérez A great slip: "He is having one of his worst days"
Aleksander ceferin
UEFA did not adopt this Friday any sanction for the founding clubs of the Super League and those that continue ahead in the Champions League, such as Real Madrid and Chelsea, although it will continue to study "options" and "steps" for a final decision.
At its second meeting in five days, the UEFA Executive Committee limited itself to "receiving up-to-date information" on the 'Super League', "including the options available to UEFA and the steps it is considering taking."
However, the body chaired by
Aleksander Ceferin
did not adopt any punishment for the teams involved.
The resignation of the six English clubs, the three Italians and Atlético de Madrid, was very well received by Ceferin, who had already advanced the possibility of imposing sanctions against the promoters of the initiative.
For his part,
Javier Tebas
, elected this week a member of the UEFA Executive, did not consider it likely that any decision will be taken during this course, although he did suggest that clubs must accept a series of conditions to play UEFA competitions.
"Participation in UEFA competitions is voluntary. We are going to see if Real Madrid and Barcelona sign this document for next season with the conditions established by the organizer of the competitions," said the president of LaLiga.
