The Asian Football Confederation announced today the completion of the two club competitions (Champions League and Federation Cup) starting in September, after they were suspended since March due to the new Corona virus. The Federation confirmed in a statement on its website, that the completion of the two competitions will be by the rally system, i.e. the matches are held in one place, a system similar to what the European Union will use for the game (WIFA) to complete its competitions for clubs as well. The AFC reported that the completion of the group stage of the Champions League competition in which 32 teams participate, will start with West Continent Clubs on September 14, while East Continent Clubs matches will start on October 17.
The Federation indicated that the remaining matches from the group stage in the Champions League, until the semi-finals, will be held "by the rally system from September 14 to October 3."
And the first round will be completed between September 14 and 24 of it, provided that the exclusionary roles (from the final price to the semi-final) are held in a single game system instead of going and returning, in the period between September 26 and the third of October. The final match (from one round also) will be held on the fifth of October, with the locations to be determined at a later period.
The second club competition, Al-Ittihad Cup, will complete its group stage starting from September 23, with the final match taking place on December 12, according to the same formula for the parent competition. Etihad will complete the double qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in China in October and November.
