The 2021 Tour de France will start from Brest, the Brittany region announced on Monday, Copenhagen having had to give up hosting the start of the world's largest cycling race next year.

The 2021 Tour will spend “almost a week” in Brittany, with “four starts and four arrivals,” said the President of the Region, Loig Chesnais-Girard. Indirect consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Danish capital has postponed the reception of the Grand Départ of the Tour de France until 2022.

🚴‍♂️ #Bretagne, Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2021! Delighted to announce with Christian Prudhomme that he will start in Brest, will pass through Finistère, Côtes d'Armor, Morbihan and Ille-et-Vilaine. It will be a great popular celebration and a booster for the economy! # TDF2021 pic.twitter.com/YRM7bPMGhO
