The Korea Consumer Agency has launched an investigation into the recent series of broken glass doors of Samsung Electronics drum washing machines.

The Consumer Agency explained today (18th) that after being informed of the accident through a media report, it filed a complaint with the Consumer Risk Monitoring System (CISS) and sent an official letter to Samsung Electronics requesting confirmation and clarification of the facts.

The Consumer Agency added that it has sent an official letter to Samsung Electronics three times, but has not yet received a response.

The Consumer Agency plans to determine the future response direction as soon as it receives Samsung Electronics' response data.

The Consumer Basic Act establishes a consumer safety center at the Consumer Agency and allows information to be collected on matters that have caused or are likely to cause harm to life, body or property due to goods, etc.

In addition, according to the result of analysis of risk information, if necessary, a consumer safety alarm may be issued or a corrective recommendation may be made to the operator.
