"HorsePower Plus", "FatKiller" or "DragonSlim Xtreme": miracle pills that are advertised on the Internet promise penis enlargement or rapid weight loss - but they can be expensive for those interested.
The European Consumer Center Germany (ECC) is currently experiencing complaints about a company that operates several online shops. Those who order products on the platforms or register for a free test package of penis enlargement or weight loss pills tap into an expensive subscription trap, warns the ECC.
According to the consumer center, those affected have experienced how one-off sales transactions or even price inquiries end up in an expensive subscription. Information about the terms of the contract were only displayed after the order was completed.
Unwanted pills packages
On portals such as Verbraucherschutz.de Internet users have been reporting for some time that they would have received unintentional packets of pills - and were asked to pay bills ranging from 40 to 300 euros.
The consumer advocates recommend that those affected should not pay for unwanted deliveries and object in writing, for example by e-mail with a read receipt.
When debt collection agencies push for the payment of bills, the ECC advises against an objection to merchants and collection service providers.
