Mohamed bin Zayed receives the Emirates Professional Cycling Team

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received yesterday the Emirates Professional Cycling Team.

His Highness welcomed the team, during the meeting that took place in the Qasr Al Bahr Majlis, and exchanged cordial conversations with them about their future ambitions and their most important participation.

His Highness congratulated the team for the world championships it achieved, especially during the years 2020-2021, expressing his pride in its efforts and achievements, and urged the team to continue its excellence in order to enhance its position, being one of the best cycling teams in the world.

His Highness also expressed his thanks for the role of partners and sponsors in supporting the Emirates Professional Cycling Team and supporting sports and athletes in general.

For his part, the Emirates Professional Cycling Team, accompanied by Matar Al Yabhouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed his great happiness to meet His Highness, valuing the support and interest that the sports sector and athletes enjoy in various types of sports in the UAE, which gives an incentive to compete and achieve achievements that add to the UAE sports balance.

It is noteworthy that the Emirates Professional Team, which was officially established and approved in January 2017, is the first international Arab cycling team licensed for international buoys.

It includes 30 professional cyclists of different nationalities, including the Emirati Yousef Ahmed Mirza Al Hammadi, headed by Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the executive management of the Swiss and former world champion Mauro Ginati.

The most prominent achievements of the Emirates professional team are achieving the World Tour de France titles twice in a row 2020, 2021 and the UAE Tour title twice in a row 2020, 2021 alongside the Tour Slovenia 2021 and Liege Posting French 2021, in addition to winning 11 stages in the Tour de France, seven stages in the Tour of Italy, and five Stages in the Tour of Spain, and also won the Tour of Europe, Poland and Italy, while the team has achieved more than 87 world wins between stages and races since its inception.
