Wrestling Japanese national team camp is canceled again due to a rapid increase in corona infections July 20 15:53

In response to the rapid increase in the number of people infected with the new coronavirus, the Japan Wrestling Association has decided to cancel the training camp of the Japanese national team, which had restarted in Tokyo from this month until next month.

The Japan Wrestling Association has been relaunching representative training camps at the National Training Center in Kita-ku, Tokyo from this month. It was a female Greco-Roman style training camp from the 2nd of this month and a 6th.

However, over the past few days, the wrestling association has decided to cancel all training camps scheduled for next month due to the rapid increase in the number of people infected with the new coronavirus.

Before the training camp, the Wrestling Association thoroughly checked infection prevention measures such as checking the health condition of athletes and coaches and conducting an "antibody test" to check whether they have been infected with the new coronavirus. It means that they decided that "the risk of infection cannot be zero."

For the time being, the athletes continue to practice at their bases such as universities, and the training camp is scheduled to resume from September onwards.

Shigeki Nishiguchi, General Manager of the Japan Wrestling Association, said, "We want to strengthen the training camp in the mountains, but it is the highest priority to ensure the safety of athletes and not spread the infection. Can be annoying."
