"We will conduct serious research, even if the antibody titer has dropped, this does not mean that a person is not protected, because you need to watch the so-called secondary immune response," RIA Novosti Gintsburg quotes.

He said that the vaccine has two main properties - to form immunity and to produce memory cells.

He explained that in the absence of antibodies, memory cells quickly begin to produce them when a pathogen enters the body.

Gunzburg said that in order to determine the presence of memory cells, it is necessary to find out on what day antibodies are produced when the pathogen enters the body, if on the second or third, they are, if at 12-14 - not.

“This will most likely be a separate study,” he said.

He noted that "the infection is new, you cannot answer all the questions at once."

According to Gunzburg, who got himself vaccinated against coronavirus back in the spring, he intends to take an analysis a year after vaccination and find out if the antibody titers are preserved.

“I planned such an analysis for myself a year later, my wife did it after 4 months, she retained the same antibody titer. I was even a little surprised, because I thought that he would fall a little, but no. Therefore, I decided that I would not look at the antibody titer earlier than in a year, ”he added.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health of Russia issued the N.N. Gamaleya permission to conduct post-marketing studies of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Gunzburg also noted that the civil circulation of the COVID-19 vaccine may begin a month after the start of the third, post-registration stage of drug research.
