Financial Times: scientists have identified about 50 mutations of the monkeypox virus

“It was unexpected to find so many mutations in the 2022 monkeypox virus,” said one of the study participants from the Portuguese National Institute of Health.

Earlier, the World Health Network (WHA) reported that monkeypox was officially declared a pandemic.

According to the WHA, there are currently 3,417 confirmed cases of monkeypox in 58 countries around the world.

Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe, said earlier that Europe continues to be the epicenter of the monkeypox outbreak.
