The Qatari authorities announced today that a Covid vaccine will not be mandatory for fans who will come to attend the FIFA World Cup later this year.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy said, "The Ministry of Health has canceled quarantine procedures for all travelers coming to Qatar, who are vaccinated or not, regardless of the country of departure."
All visitors over the age of six must submit a negative result for a Covid examination before boarding the planes bound for Qatar to attend the tournament scheduled between November 20 and December 18, according to the Qatari authorities.
It is also necessary to bring a PCR test certificate with a negative result valid for 48 hours, or a rapid antigen test (rapid test) with a negative result valid for 24 hours, from the date of the scheduled flight to the State of Qatar, noting that rapid self-tests are not valid for travelers, according to the Ministry’s website. the health.
According to the committee, “in the event that any infection with the virus is discovered, it will be subject to sanitary isolation measures according to the procedures of the ministry,” through isolation for five days and then wearing a muzzle for five days.
The committee stressed that "wearing a mask is mandatory in all health care facilities and public transportation."
At a time, the statement added that visitors to Qatar can obtain health care services in any of the hospitals and health centers in the country, adding that health services for emergency and urgent cases in government hospitals will be available “free of charge for Haya card holders.”
Passengers coming to the State of Qatar must also download and activate the "Ehteraz" application on their mobile phones upon arrival at the country's ports.
Qatar will host the first World Cup in the Middle East on the verge of winter, due to the high temperatures in the summer.
More than one million visitors are expected to come to the country of 2.8 million people.
