Another novelty on Facebook Messenger.
The instant messaging app announced on Thursday the arrival of augmented reality effects available during video calls, 01net reports.
AR filters will be available to all participants of a call or group call in Messenger and Messenger Rooms, the social network said on its blog on Thursday.
Facebook is trying with this new feature, similar to the one offered for a long time by Snapchat, to make these video meetings more fun.

The library already includes 70 augmented reality group effects, which will apply to all participants simultaneously.
To accelerate the development of the feature, Facebook will provide developers and filter creators with access to its new Spark AR Multipeer API at the end of October.
The AR effects are available this Friday on the messaging app, via the smiley-shaped button that appears during a video call.
The social network said they would also arrive on Instagram, owned by the group, in the coming days.
