Iran arrested footballer Voria Ghafouri on Thursday for "anti-state propaganda".

The footballer was arrested after a training session of his Foolad FC in Ahvaz in Khuzestan province by decision of the judicial authority.
The Iranian news agency Fars initially reported on the incident.
The player of the Iranian Premier League club and 2021 Iranian Cup winners was accused of "insulting and belittling the reputation of the national team and conducting propaganda against the system," Fars said in the report.
What the insulting act actually consisted of was initially unclear.
At the end of September, Iranian authorities provisionally arrested former national player Hossein Maahini.
The former professional was accused of taking part in the protests against the death of young Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini.
"Former Persepolis FC player Hossein Maahini has been arrested by order of the judicial authorities for promoting and promoting unrest on his social media pages," state news agency IRNA said at the time.
Amini died under mysterious circumstances after being arrested by the vice squad.
The 22-year-old was arrested on September 13 on charges of not wearing the Islamic headscarf in accordance with strict regulations.
