The wildfire that occurred in Andong, Gyeongbuk on the afternoon of the 24th, evolved on the 26th, after 40 hours. Gyeongbuk Province and the Southern Regional Forest Service are holding a big flame around 2:30 p.m. on this day and working on cleaning up the remaining money.

Although there was no casualties, the forest burned 800km (estimated in Gyeongbuk Province). More than 1,100 times the forest area (0.714 km2) of the soccer field became ash in two days.

In addition, three houses around the fire site and warehouses, barns, and plastic houses were also burned. Most of the 1,200 residents who evacuated around the forest were also home.

From the morning of the 26th, Gyeongbuk Province and the forest authorities have put 32 helicopters and 3,700 people into the field and have been working on the evolution. Gyeongbuk Province and the forestry authorities are planning to keep personnel on site to prevent the fire from reviving in the wind. In addition, when the extinguishing work is completed, we will investigate the exact scale of damage and cause of fire.

The fire occurred in Poongcheon-myeon, Andong-si, on the 24th at 3:39 pm and seemed to be extinguished in about 20 hours, but was revived by strong wind at 2 pm on the 25th.

As a result of this, the two-way vehicle traffic between Naman-dong IC and Seoan-dong IC on the Jungang Expressway was stopped from the afternoon of the 25th and resumed at 9 am on the 26th.
