While it was confirmed that a hospital in Incheon administered only half the dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the authorities started an accurate investigation.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) announced today (12th) that it is investigating the exact dose of vaccine for those inoculated through reference data.

Earlier, as a result of an investigation by the Incheon-si Namdong-gu Public Health Center, it was revealed that a hospital in the area administered only half the dose (0.5 ml) of the AstraZeneca vaccine to 40 people.

It is known that this hospital explained to the vaccinated people that 'if only half of the vaccine is given, there are fewer adverse reactions'.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) has a policy of not re-vaccinating once more than half of the prescribed dose has been inoculated.

According to the 'Corona 19 Vaccination Practice Criteria' prepared by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with reference to the standards of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if less than the recommended dose is administered, re-vaccination is decided according to the dose.

If more than half the dose is not given again, but if less than half vaccinated or if the dose ratio cannot be estimated, the approved dose should be injected into the contralateral arm immediately.

The recommended dose for each vaccine is AstraZeneca 0.5ml, Pfizer 0.3ml, and Janssen 0.5ml.

In clinical trials, overdose inoculation did not show serious side effects, but pain at the injection site was often reported.
