Brazilian cross-country skier Bruna Mora will miss the upcoming Winter Olympics in the Chinese capital, Beijing, because her car was involved in a terrible accident on its way to the airport, the Brazilian GLOBO SPORT portal announced, quoting the skater.

Mora was traveling in her car on the way from Austria to Munich Airport in Germany, but the driver of the car attempted to make a dangerous skip and collided with a truck, according to her own account.

Mora suffered multiple injuries, including fractures in the foot, arm, shoulder and ribs, while the driver died in the accident.

It is noteworthy that Mora participated in a competition in Austria, where she was preparing for the first Winter Olympics in her sports career.

After the tournament in which Moura was participating, the Brazilian figure skater contracted the Corona virus and was forced to remain in quarantine inside the country.
