While the spread of COVID-19 in Korea continues, the number of new confirmed cases soared to 2,000 again today (1st).



The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that as of 00:00 today, the number of new confirmed cases increased by 2,025, bringing the total to 253,445.



The number increased by 653 from yesterday (1,372), and again exceeded 2,000 in a week after the 25th of last month (2,154).



This is the fifth record of 2,000 people since the Corona 19 crisis in Korea.



If you look at the weekly number of confirmed cases, the pattern of the decrease in the number of tests on weekends and holidays is somewhat small until the beginning of the week, followed by a sharp increase starting on Wednesday, repeating.



If you look at the route of infection of the new confirmed cases today, 1,992 cases were local and 33 were imported.



The 4th pandemic, which started in earnest in early July, has continued for nearly two months, increasing the spread across the country.



In particular, the 'delta-type' mutation originating in India, which has a stronger transmission power, is spreading throughout the country, and the Chuseok holiday, when a large-scale movement is expected, is also ahead, raising concerns about further spread.



The number of confirmed cases per day has been in the four digits for 57 consecutive days since July 7 (1,211 people).
