The National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency announced that 261 people were arrested over the course of a year and 22 of them were detained under the disguised investigation system that was implemented since September last year.

In particular, there were 179 criminals who sold, distributed, and advertised sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, accounting for 68.5% of the total number of arrests.

Those who possessed or watched sexual exploitation of children and adolescents also arrested 73 people through a disguised investigation.

Under the current law, disguised investigations can only be used to investigate digital sex crimes targeting children and adolescents.

The government plans to select and train new undercover investigators and provide in-depth training for existing undercover investigators so that undercover investigations can become a universal investigative technique.
