Two officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy were arrested for deletion of data in connection with the suspicion of manipulating the economic feasibility of the Wolseong nuclear power plant #1.

The Daejeon District Court issued an arrest warrant against the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Bureau Moo Mo and Kim Mo's secretary for whom arrest warrants were claimed for violations of the Audit and Inspection Service Act.

Judge Oh Se-yong, who was in charge of warrants, said the reasons for issuing the warrant, saying they are denying the crime and fearing destroying evidence.

Earlier, the Daejeon District Prosecutor's Office requested an arrest warrant against three officials of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, including Director Moon, on charges of deleting 444 related data prior to the audit of the Audit Office for the suspicion of manipulating the economic feasibility of nuclear power plants last year.

The warrant of arrest against Manager Jung Mo, who was investigated together, was dismissed.

Chief Judge Oh explained the reason for dismissal because Jeong generally admitted the crime and there was no fear of destroying evidence.
