Professional baseball KIA has appointed head coach Kim Jong-guk, who has only worn Tigers uniforms for 25 years, as the new manager.

After sacking Williams, the KIA club appointed head coach Kim Jong-guk to the managerial position, which had been vacant for over a month.

Born in Gwangju, he joined the KIA in 1996 and worked as a key infielder for 14 years. After retiring in 2010, coach Kim Jong-guk, who has been coaching only at the KIA, announced his ambition to rebuild the famous family by building a solid defense.

[Kim Jong-guk / KIA new director: I feel a lot of great responsibility.

I think it is the first step to becoming a consistently strong team if we need to be stable on the defense side.]
