Liverpool were crowned European Super Cup champions by beating compatriot Chelsea 5-4 on penalties after the two teams drew 2-2 in the original and extra time of the game at the "Vodafone Arena" in Istanbul, the stronghold of Besiktas of Turkey.
The Reds scored Sadio Mane (48 and 95), while the Blues scored Olivier Giroud (36) and Jorginho (101 from the penalty spot).
The European champions have won the trophy for the fourth time in their history.
