Jurgen Klopp wants to make it a habit for Liverpool to be crowned when they play in Istanbul, the scene of their biggest continental triumph, against Chelsea in the European Super Cup.

Liverpool trailed 3-0 to AC Milan in the Champions League final in 2005, when they overturned their late and crowned penalties on the banks of the Bosphorus, and will return to the big city to face Chelsea after winning the prestigious continental title for the sixth time in its history.

It is true that the title of the competition does not take many seriously at the beginning of the season, after a summer holiday during which most of the stars relax, but the two teams will not miss the opportunity to carry an additional cup after Liverpool won their first title and the arrival of Frank Lampard at the beginning of his career with Chelsea.

Liverpool have won the competition three times and Chelsea once, but nine of the last 10 titles have gone to Spanish clubs equally between Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, which Bayern Munich broke through in 2013.

Focus will be on the referee of the French match, Stephanie Frapar, who will become the first woman to oversee a major men's match in European competitions.

Frappar wants to bring the game to safety at Besiktas's Vodafone Park stadium, where Liverpool appear to be a strong candidate to beat Chelsea, who were beaten 4-0 by Manchester United in Sunday's Premier League opener.

After losing to Manchester City on penalties in a Community Shield match, Liverpool made a strong start to the league with a 4-1 win over Norwich City, with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Dutch midfielder Virgil van Dijk and Belgian striker Devok Origi scoring for him.

But the big win was overshadowed by the loss of Brazilian goalkeeper Alison Baker for several weeks, according to Klopp's coach following a calf injury.

"I don't want to make an accurate assessment of the date of his return now, but it will certainly not be today," Klopp told the club's website.

"I read six weeks of similar rumors, but Allison has not suffered repeated injuries during his career, so I prefer to wait a bit to see how things develop. "But he won't be with us in the coming weeks."

The 26-year-old Becker was injured before half-time against Norwich City when he tried to clear a ball and was unable to complete the match and was replaced by Spaniard Adrian, the new signing from West Ham.

Asked about his team's success in the Champions League, where he overtook Tottenham in the final, Klopp said: "Stay greedy. This is very important. I don't doubt it."

"In the past I didn't like this game, because I lost in the final often (Champions League or Europa League), but this time it is different, so we look forward to the game in a great city ... I expect a different game (from the final) Champions League). I hope so. "It wasn't a nice game, but the two teams were under pressure and felt the importance of the final, which could lead to strange things."

"The most important difference with this game is that it is a new season and a different opponent. I think Chelsea have changed a lot. A new coach and Eden Hazar is no longer there."

Red team fans dream of reaching the final of the continental competition for the third time in a row, when the final is also held in Istanbul.

But before that, they hope the European Super Cup will be a prelude to a successful start to the domestic league, which has let them down by a point last season from Manchester City.

"We don't just want to stop at the Champions League," Scottish full back Andy Robertson told the club's website. "We only won this title as a group of players."

Chelsea sways with Lampard

Chelsea take on the game after winning the Europa League title at the expense of neighbors Arsenal, but many things have changed since then.

Italian coach Maurizio Sarri has left Juventus after a season and Belgian star Eden Hazar has moved to Real Madrid in a huge deal.

The club entrusted the training mission to Frank Lampard's son, despite having entered the profession just one season with the Derby County.

Lampard defended his colors over 13 seasons (2001-2014), during which he became his historic top scorer with 211 goals in 648 games (according to the club).

Lampard will be making his debut for Chelsea in his second game for West London, despite the start of his season with a painful loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The fans are awaiting the young coach's decision on whether to retain new faces in the starting line-up, such as 20-year-old midfielder Mason Mount and 21-year-old striker Tammy Abraham.

"We know we can improve," said Spanish full-back Cesar Espeliquita after a loss. We must face it, take responsibility and walk forward. "We have a title to fight against today against a good team, and we have to be ready."

Lampard suffered the toughest defeat for Chelsea in his first Blues match since Danny Blanchflower in December 1978 when he lost to Middlesbrough 7-1.

Chelsea, under FIFA's transfer ban for breaching the rules for underage players, have also suffered their biggest defeat to United in all competitions since the 1994 FA Cup final, also four, and the biggest in the league since 1967. When he lost the same result.

• Chelsea lost 4-1 to Manchester United in the first round of the Premier League.
