German club Borussia Dortmund announced today that it has extended its cooperation with Puma sports equipment company, with a profitable new sponsorship contract that will last until 2028.

"For many years, Puma was more than a supplier and sponsor of the Prussia club, it had its weight in the shareholder structure of our club as well," Chief Executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said in a statement today.

"Our partnership has grown beyond the normal limits of a business relationship. We want to add a new chapter to our common success story in the years ahead."

Dortmund did not announce the value of the deal, but German magazine Kicker and the Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper reported that the contract tripled to nearly 30 million euros ($ 33.2 million) in the season.
