Today (25th) around 2:39 am, a fire broke out on the first floor of a three-story motel building in Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and two people died.

With this fire, 11 out of 15 people in the motel, including the owner and guests, inhaled smoke, suffered burns and bruises, and were taken to the hospital.

Two of them were transported for CPR, but died.

It is known that the fire started when a man in his 60s, who had stayed for a long time on the first floor, set fire in his room after an argument with the motel owner.

The man asked the motel owner for alcohol, but when he did not give it, he was said to have set a fire in anger.

Immediately after the arson, the man was taken to the hospital and confessed to having set a fire and was arrested by the police.

The police accused the man of arson and fatality in the prefectural building and are investigating the crime.

The fire department mobilized 31 vehicles and 119 personnel to completely put out the fire around 4 am.

Police and fire fighting are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the damage.
