The Ministry of Education is hosting an online forum today (8th) with students, parents, and immunization experts on COVID-19 vaccination.

'Vaccination of youth COVID-19!

The forum, held under the theme of 'Ask Anything', will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Eun-hye Yoo, Professor Jae-Hoon Jeong of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Gachon University, and Professor Young-Jun Choi of the Department of Pediatrics at Korea University.

Vaccination experts will answer student and parent questions and share information on school quarantine and vaccination.

Currently, among those under the age of 18, 12 to 17 years old are already included in the target of the COVID-19 vaccine and are being vaccinated.

The government initially required this age group to choose whether to vaccinate, but since the quarantine situation worsened after the gradual recovery of daily life last month, it is strongly recommended.

In particular, following the introduction of the 'Quarantine Pass' (Vaccination Proof/Voice Confirmation System) to private academies on the 6th, the quarantine pass was also applied to 12-18 year olds from February next year.

Because of this, there is also a backlash saying that vaccination is actually mandatory.
