Netflix goes vertical on smartphones -

The streaming platform is launching yet another novelty on its mobile application.

This is a new vertical format that allows you to watch short, humorous clips.

A concept that inevitably recalls that of the very popular TikTok, a social network that continues to inspire adults.

Subscribers will be able to enjoy these slices of laughter from a new tab that will soon be appearing on the Netflix mobile app.

From this section, users will be able to view clips, save them and even share them on social networks.

Netflix seeks to appeal to young audiences

The humorous extracts can come from films, but also from animated series or stand-up.

We can notably mention

Murder Mystery

,

Big Mouth

or even the shows of Kevin Hart and Ali Wong.

“It goes without saying that all the extracts will not necessarily be suitable for all audiences,” says Netflix.

In addition to entertaining its subscribers and getting up to date by using a dynamic format that is very popular with young people, this new section is a good way for the platform to promote its various programs.

If subscribers are entertained by the clips, they may decide to watch the entire show, film or series.

The new feature will initially only be available on iPhone.

The streaming platform says tests on Android devices are also planned.

Owners of Android smartphones will therefore have to wait before being able to take advantage of “Pour Rire”.
