The synchronization of the watches was perfect this Wednesday between Lyon and Madrid.

Because three months after waiting, in vain, for the transfer of Memphis Depay to Barça to be able to engage with OL, Islam Slimani was this time dependent on the departure of Moussa Dembélé at Atlético de Madrid.

Clearly in check this season (1 goal in 16 appearances in Ligue 1) and operated on a fractured forearm before Christmas, the Lyon striker has agreed to a paying loan (1.5 million d 'euros) until June with the Colchoneros.

The non-compulsory purchase option amounts to 33.5 million euros (plus 5 million bonuses and 10% profit-sharing on the capital gain of a possible future transfer).

This operation could therefore prove to be juicy for the Lyon club, since at the same time, Islam Slimani arrives free from Leicester, who no longer counted on him at all (19 minutes played in October against Aston Villa).

The 32-year-old Algerian international, often brilliant last season at AS Monaco (9 goals and 7 assists in 18 L1 games), has just signed up for 18 months and is presented to the press this Wednesday after- midday.

Winner of the African Cup of Nations, he has a golden opportunity to win the first league title of his career in four months.
