During Skellefteå's more than two weeks long match break, they have recruited 24-year-old hill Roland McKeown from the Carolina Hurricanes and 30-year-old NHL returnee Melker Karlsson.

The latter returned to Skellefteå after just over six seasons in the NHL team San Jose.

And Karlsson's comeback would be a success.

Örebro started best

Örebro, who won the two previous meetings between the teams this season, took the lead.

Eight minutes into the first period, Rodrigo Abols put 1-0 to the away team.

Melker Karlsson stepped forward

But it would not take long, 14.34 minutes into the first period to be exact, before the returnee Melker Karlsson put the equalizer to his Skellefteå.

Jonathan Johnson fired a shot and Karlsson, who was in the right position, was able to steer the puck into goal.

When the second period was over, the home team had turned the match, after goals by Niclas Burström and Darren Nowick, to 3-1.

Skellefteå would get revenge on Örebro - when the third period was over, it was 4-1 on the scoreboard and that means three points for the home team.
