The coach of the France Espoirs team Sylvain Ripoll unveiled on Monday an extremely tough group of 23 players selected for the first phase of Euro-U21, from March 24 to 31 in Hungary, including elements who have already played with the A, like Houssem Aouar, Jonathan Ikoné or Eduardo Camavinga.

"The big news is that we had to give this list of Hopes before that of A [which will be unveiled Thursday], which is almost never the case," said Ripoll at a press conference.

“The priorities remain the same, but there was a lot of discussion with Didier Deschamps and his staff and he told me which players were selectable with the Espoirs.

That's why these boys, who have already been in A, are with us, and then because we want to be strong, ”added the Bleuets coach.

A list of incredible density

Midfielders Camavinga (Rennes) and Aouar (Lyon) or Lille striker Ikoné have already played with the Deschamps team.

Matteo Guendouzi (Herta Berlin), who should be the captain of the Espoirs at the Euro, has also already been called up to the top floor, without playing.

In the selection unveiled Monday by Ripoll also include players like Jules Koundé (Sevilla) or Bouba Kamara (Marseille), who seem in view of their recent performances very close to the Deschamps team.

Euro-Espoirs takes place this year in Hungary and Slovenia, in two distinct phases.

The group stage will be played from March 24 to 31.

In Group C, France will face Denmark, Russia and Iceland.

The top two from each of the four groups will qualify for a final phase to be held from May 31 to June 6, still in Hungary and Slovenia.
