In Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, a pedestrian crossing a crosswalk was hit by a running vehicle and fell and was killed by an oncoming fire engine.



Yesterday (1st) around 6:48 pm, a pedestrian B (60s) bumped his shoulder into the side mirror of a carnival van driven by Mr. A (50s) at a traffic light-free crosswalk in Seokjeong-dong, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.



In the first accident, Mr. B fell and fell on the rear wheel of an oncoming fire truck in the second accident.



In this accident, Mr. B died at the scene.



Immediately after the accident, Mr. A was found to have stopped on the road 10 meters from the site for several tens of seconds, and then drove and escaped.



The police arrested Mr. A in the nearby city around 0:30 today, six hours after the accident, through a nearby closed circuit (CC) TV.



Immediately after the arrest, it was reported that the alcohol concentration in the blood was not detected in the alcohol consumption measurement conducted against Mr. A.



A police official said, "We are investigating the exact details of the accident by accusing Mr. A and the driver of a fire engine on charges of runaway fatality under the Special Act on Special Act and Traffic Accident Handling Act."
