Sales of coffee, pet food and products for cooking and baking grew double digits at the world's largest food group Nestlé.

The company reported this on Wednesday during the presentation of the figures for the third quarter.

Looking at the different product categories, Purina PetCare was the largest contributor to growth.

Brands that fall under this include Purina ONE and Felix's cat kibble.

Dairy products also performed well.

According to Nestlé, this has to do with the increased demand for products for baking at home.

In addition, coffee - Nestlé has Nespresso, Nescafé and Starbucks - ready meals and Maggi products were popular.

The changed purchasing behavior due to the corona crisis has not only positive effects for Nestlé. The demand for bottled water, products for consumption outside the home and for the business market decreased. Turnover therefore decreased everywhere, compared to the same period last year.
