Audax, parent company of AKO and Marskramer, among others, takes over the 273 stores of the Bruna bookstore. Both companies say this to the FD on Monday evening. The amount of money involved in this acquisition was not disclosed.
According to the FD, Bruna remains active under its own name. According to the newspaper, the combination company, which will have a turnover of 350 million euros, will be called Audax Group.
Audax and Bruna together have 1,700 employees and 1,300 own stores, franchisees and affiliated entrepreneurs. It is not immediately clear whether there will be consequences for employees.
Two years ago Bruna came into the hands of Shared Stories Group. The bookshop was previously owned by PostNL and ING, who wanted to get rid of the ailing company.
