The State Duma introduced a bill on three-year working out by state students

Highlights: A bill was introduced to the State Duma proposing to oblige state students to work for three years on distribution or pay for tuition. In May 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law to increase the number of state-funded places in master's programs. The Ural Federal University (UrFU) previously announced an increase in the number in state- funded places for 2023. A special commission will choose the future place of work of graduates four months before graduation, according to the bill.

A bill was introduced to the State Duma proposing to oblige state students to work for three years on distribution or pay for tuition.


"Upon graduation, graduates ... those who have been educated at the expense of the relevant budgets of the budget system of the Russian Federation are subject to employment by distributing them according to the qualifications obtained, "the text of the document posted on the website of the legislative support system says.

Corresponding changes are proposed to be made to the Federal Law "On Education in Russia".

Legislators propose a system according to which, no later than four months before graduation, a special commission will choose the future place of work of graduates.

The Ural Federal University (UrFU) previously announced an increase in the number of state-funded places for 2023.
